Health and Safety Procedures
At USST a culture of safety doesn’t happen by accident…
At U.S. Submergent Technologies (USST), safety always has been and always will be our number one priority. No matter which service we’re providing, you can expect that we’ll produce a thorough health and safety plan and perform operations in a way that keeps our crew, your team, and the surrounding communities safe.
U.S. Submergent Technologies’ Health and Safety Plans
You know the adage: fail to plan; plan to fail. Every U.S. Submergent Technologies job is planned with a detailed, personalized analysis of the safety procedures required for each job site. A site-specific health and safety plan is always generated as part of every job.
A U.S. Submergent Technologies’ health and safety plan outlines how we’ll approach the project at hand and the health/safety precautions we will take while performing the work. A detailed health and safety plan is unique to each project and ensures our crews, our customers, and surrounding communities avoid dangerous situations. Just as importantly, a health and safety plan outlines the appropriate response in case an unexpected situation arises.
USST Health and Safety Plan Includes:
- A site-specific risk assessment and hazard identification
- A transportation plan addressing route hazards, route and fleet safety
- Confined space entry program and permits, when necessary
- Disposal site requirements and compliance
- Environmental monitoring
- Site control measures
- Communication and safe work practices
- An emergency action plan
- First aid and local first responder information
- Additional COVID-19 safety measures and extreme hygiene precautions for both our crew and customers

U.S. Submergent Technologies’ Safety Difference
U.S. Submergent Technologies revolutionized infrastructure maintenance with technologies that provide a safer and faster way to clean wet infrastructure.
The Combination®3 Truck — equipped with a powerful vacuum, downhole pump, jetter, and extended-reach boom — can be set up in eight different ways to clean in wet or dry conditions. This allows us to bring less equipment to the job site, and it reduces the need for confined space entry.
In instances where confined space entry is unavoidable, our crews take extra care to follow our Confined Space Program, ensuring that the presence of atmospheric hazards are eliminated through proper ventilation and quality air monitoring. The space is made safe prior to entering, and this activity is documented on our confined space permit.
